As the year 2020 came to a close, the Latin American mobile gaming market saw significant activity in the Arcade Racing category on the Android platform. Here's a snapshot of the performance of the top five applications in this segment, according to data provided by Sensor Tower.
Shortcut Run, published by VOODOO, showed an impressive growth in downloads, starting with approximately 1.6K in early October and peaking at nearly 1.7M in mid-November. Weekly active users followed a similar upward trend, starting at around 1.3K and reaching over 3.5M by the end of November. Revenue numbers also saw a climb, starting at $3 in late October and hitting a high of $84K in early December.
Ivy's Street Racing 3D, another contender, had a steady revenue stream, peaking at $461K in the last week of December. Downloads for the game reached their zenith in mid-October at approximately 664K and saw a gradual decrease to around 409K by year's end. The weekly active users reflected this pattern, with a high of approximately 2.5M in mid-October and concluding the quarter at around 1.8M.
The game aquapark.io, also from VOODOO, didn't generate revenue after late November, but downloads and weekly active users painted a different picture. Downloads hit a high of over 531K in late October, and active users reached a peak of nearly 2.9M in the same period. The year ended with a notable uptick in downloads to around 460K and active users at approximately 2.7M.
VOODOO's Scribble Rider experienced fluctuations in revenue, with peaks at $109K in late September and $58K in late December. Downloads followed a declining trend from a high of over 624K in late September to around 361K by the end of December, with weekly active users showing a similar decline from approximately 1.6M to 942K in the same timeframe.
Lastly, Epic Race 3D – Parkour Game by CASUAL AZUR GAMES showed modest revenue figures, peaking at $34K in late September and ending the quarter at $11K. Downloads saw a significant increase in late October to over 303K, maintaining relatively stable numbers to close the quarter at around 219K. Active users were highest in early November with over 1.1M and ended the quarter just under 1M.
